Is your phone unlocked?

Your phone needs to be unlocked in order to work on SmartLess Mobile. The good news? Most devices can be easily unlocked.

  • Check if your device is unlocked

    If you're not sure whether your device is unlocked, the easiest thing to do is ask your current carrier. If you have an iPhone, go to Settings > General > About and look for "Carrier Lock." If the status is "No SIM restrictions," you're good to go!

  • Get your device unlocked

    If you own your phone it can be unlocked with a simple request to your current carrier.  If you're still making payments, unlocking the device might mean you have to pay any outstanding charges first. Best thing to do is ask your current carrier.

Can I bring my phone to SmartLess Mobile?

Yes. SmartLess Mobile is built for BYOP—Bring Your Own Phone. If your phone is unlocked and compatible, you're probably good to go. Use our compatibility tool to double-check before switching.

Can I keep my number?

Absolutely. Keeping your current number is part of the deal. We’ll guide you through a simple number transfer during activation—no hoops, no headaches.

What phones work on SmartLess Mobile?

Most phones work great - as long as they’re unlocked. Use our compatibility tool to confirm before switching. 

What is a locked and unlocked phone?

A locked phone is tied to a specific carrier and won’t work on SmartLess Mobile until it’s unlocked. An unlocked phone is free to move between carriers. If you bought your phone outright or finished your contract, it’s probably unlocked. Not sure? Contact your current carrier to confirm or request an unlock. 

Can I use my SmartLess Mobile service with wearables, such as the Apple Watch?

You can use Apple Watch with your iPhone via Bluetooth and WiFi, but SmartLess Mobile does not currently support cellular features on Apple Watch or other wearable devices.
